NBA 2K21 Version 1.09 – Next Gen Update & Patch Notes

Just a few improvements arrived with the latest NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Patch Update. Gamers will now see improved player lighting and shadows in The City during the daytime hours. Also, 2K Games says that an issue causing slower loading times on PS5 has been resolved. Last but not least, an issue with accepting trade offers in MyNBA Online has been resolved.

The latest Patch is live

• Improved player lighting and shadows in The City during daytime hours.
• Improved an issue that was causing slow bootup times for some PS5 users. More improvements to come.
• Addressed a potential hang in MyNBA Online when accepting trade offers.

It’s not clear how much more was fixed, but the focus on The City and a PS5 boot issue seem to confirm the focus on next-gen with this update.

Also, be careful when downloading this new update because some people have issues with it. The loading screen gets stuck for some people, and all they see is Zion Williamson’s picture.

Does the new update bring additional issues?

The release of NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Patch Update #7 also brought in some people reporting new issues. According to ComicBook’s report, some individuals said their load times became even worse with the patch update. Apparently, NBA 2K advised gamers to try restarting consoles to see if that improved load times, but many people were still indicating longer load times.

“The game won’t load now. I’ve been waiting 13 minutes and restarted twice, waiting at least 10 minutes each time!” one gamer replied in the patch note tweet comments.

“This update made my Zion screen take longer,” another person said in the tweet comments.

“Y’all lied. Zion screen got worse, and I lost my custom shoes deleting the game and redownloading it. Fix this,” another commented.

It may be why the full patch notes and Courtside Report haven’t gone live yet, as 2K Games could be working to remedy the issue if the Version 1.09 Update for next-gen has actually gone wrong.

Players who haven’t yet downloaded it may want to back up their save files if possible, as there were issues with a previous update that affected save data.
